For the second week of our Interactive Photography unit, we were asked to choose a theme for our website, and then make changes and edits through using widgets and simple CSS code changes (such as colour etc.).
The theme I have chosen is Thematic, which is free and open-source, features 13 widget ready areas, and extensive resources and support through the ‘ThemeShaper Forums‘.
I was also impressed with the design and the layout of the theme – simple, clean and minimalist – with an easily customisable code, which will allow my images to stand out when uploaded to the galleries. The menu at the top of the page will also work well within the unit brief, as it is automatically set-up as expandable, which works well when working with the gallery pages – providing simple and easy to use navigation for visitors to my site.
